Mitchell Cheng is a Taiwanese-American pianist, composer, and educator based in New York City. He is first and foremost an improviser, and cherishes the surprise and wonder that can occur from a spontaneous musical idea that is expressed directly, in real time. His songs have a strong narrative arc and pay homage to the style of his mentors, Eric Doney and John Coates.
Mitchell is an alumni of Manhattan School of Music. He is an avid educator and works to support arts education initiatives in NYC.
